So, out of curiousity i downloaded the descriptive pdf on the riaa amnesty...now when i try to trash the file it tells me the file is still in use. i've closed preview, theres no other files running...how on earth do i get the file off my computer? it wouldnt bother me so much if it wasnt for the riaa...i know, its weird. but still.
any suggestions would be appreciate.d

I'm sure the problem would go away if you logged out or restarted, but in case you don't want to...

Open Terminal. Type:
rm ~/.Trash/filename

Where filename is the name of the file...and I'm assuming that you have already trashed it, and it just won't let you empty the trash.

thanks.
I ended up restarting....i forgot about the terminal command. I'm learning unix slowly, and soemtimes having trouble connecting playing around to actually chanigng something :-D
anyhow, thanks again. mostly was concerned the riaa was tracing me or someting equally weird, due to the nature of the pdf. i know, im paranoid.
