so i'm looking for a good bluetooth mouse for a reasonable price for my MacBook. i don't want a small portable one, because honestly, i don't take a mouse with me. i only need 2 buttons, and a scroll wheel. i was looking at the mightly mouse, but it is really expensive. any input would be appreciated.

The mighty mouse is horrible. Get the Logitech V27, or VX Nano.

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with the mighty mouse. I use a wired one on the iMac and a bluetooth on the G4 mini.
Whether a mouse is good or not is very subjective. You need to try one out to see if you like it.

I also like the :apple: mighty mouse. I wasnt expecting to like it as much as I do. The only thing I miss is the extra button my PC has on its logitech mouse (used as a 'back' button). But the scroll pea is superior to a wheel.

so the little scroll thing still works good? also i read that it is touch sensitive, so does that mean you can right click with it?

You can assign it any configuration that you'd like. It's a great mouse, and works great - but as you said before, it does come with a hefty price, especially if you want a wireless one.
If you are really just looking for a simple two button scroll wheel mouse, walk into a CompUSA/Best Buy/Circuit City, and grab the one you like. My previous mouse was a Microsoft, 5 button wireless mouse with scrolling that cost 30 bucks. It still works great 3 years later.

Yes, you can right click and there is also a sort of squeeze-click. You can also middle-click with the scroll pea in the same way that you would middle-click on a scroll wheel on most mice.
You are right about it being touch sensitive... thats how it determines whether you are clicking or right clicking... it senses where your finger is on it. Its really nice to use.

I've had the wireless mighty mouse and now use the logitech V270. I like the Logitech better, it has more of a standard mouse shape which myself and others find more comfertable.

I ordered a white Logitech V470 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/3287&cl=us,en) today. It's not too small and actually uses Bluetooth so you won't waste the USB port for the receiver. Reviews sounded fine too.

I use the Apple wireless Mighty Mouse.
The touch sensitive top is amazing.
The scroll ball-it can freely move around (360 degree scrolling), unlike a traditional tilt wheel mouse

I almost got one of those too, but they are impossible to find in the UK.
But now I am much happier with my Mighty Mouse.
Zuplar: You can test the mighty mouse at your nearest apple store or reseller

Yep! It's a really nice mouse... it's the first mouse I've ever actually liked. I am really a trackball fan, but they don't make a lot of Bluetooth trackballs. But it is really expensive... really expensive. Same with the Bluetooth keyboard. I'd love to get one of those.

well is there any sort of student discount on it? there was on my laptop, so i'm just wondering. plus it would match, and that is a plus for me.

I wasn't able to get one at my campus bookstore, but I did get it tax-free... that was nice. Maybe you could contact your bookstore (if you have one) and find out if they have any incentives for you to buy. :D

my bookstore on campus is a barnes & noble, and from what i have seen they don't sell anything like that. i got my discount at the Apple store in the local mall, so i was just curious if there was a discount on the mouse as well.
