hi, i'm quite new to the whole mac thing but i'm just wondering, for macbook pro's default 2gb ram, is that 1 chip or 2?
I want to upgrade ram to 4gb, would i need to buy just another 2gb ram or a whole 4gb ram set?

and for the the dual channel thingy to function, do they need to be same brand, or is it jus the capacity.. (both 2gb chips)?

thx for the help.

For dual channel memory access, the chips have to be the same size. Brand is not a factor.
