Afghan President Hamid Karzai is calling for the U.S. and NATO to cut back on airstrikes in the battle against Taliban and al-Qaida militants, saying too many civilians have been killed.

Karzai said that six years after the U.S.-led invasion the Afghan people "cannot comprehend as to why there is still a need for air power."
I've also read articles about how we've killed numerous civilians, even while missing our actual targets. And we wonder why they hate us. And why we're losing.

Yeah, I know, collateral damage... still doesn't make it ok, especially when Bin Laden is elsewhere and we keep failing to pursue him (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=374952).

Afghanistan is the red-headed stepchild in the War on Terror. Air campaigns continue because there aren't enough boots on the ground.
