titles of applications as I hover over the dock - can I get rid of that?

Is this an option? I don't need to be reminded what Finder and Safari are.
 
Unfortunately it's not an option, much like the rest of OS X (no options, just Apple's way). 😉

Might be a way to hack it. I dunno though.
