Just upgraded to Leopard!
I can't figure out how to get rid of the "sync" icon that installs itself by default into the toolbar in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. I don't have a .Mac account, so it's completely useless to me. Is there some way to shut it off?

Have you tried simply Command-dragging it off there? That works to remove most of the Apple menu bar icons so it might do the trick for you here.

Or you could do that. That works.

Dorean, the preference panel doesn't get that far until you log in with your .Mac account (which I can't, not having one ;) ).
Jaffa: Thanks, it worked perfectly. That's a great tip to remember for the future.

Yeah that dawned on me shortly after I posted that. Glad you got it worked out though.

Go to system preferences then .mac, you can deselect 'show status in menu bar' there
Edit : too slow typing on EDGE ;)
