Changing System Sounds

hey I was wondering if anyone knows how to change you system sounds in OSX 10.2?

I just located the files in the system folder (i.e. "basso", etc.). Then I checked their specs - 44.1 or 22 Mono Aiffs (?) and created the files I wanted to use for system sounds and put them in the folder. Then I selected those in system preferences for alerts.

Other system sounds are a little trickier.
