Time Shift + MacBook Pro = NO GO

I just got Time Shift today for PC. I installed it on my MacBook Pro. The intro videos play beautifully, but when I get to the actual gameplay, nothing shows up. I've been trying for the past hour and no go.

What graphics card do you have, the ATI x1600 256 or Nvidia 8600? Big difference between what either can run in terms of power...

The latest (well.. not anymore as of today)

Running Leopard 10.5 Bootcamp, Windows XP SP2, MacBook Pro 17", 256MB Nvidia 8600M GT


I would think that would be somewhat powerful enough to run the game.

iMac Installation:

- Technicalities: iMac Core 2 Duo, 2.0gHz Santa Rosa, 128MB ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT, 1GB RAM, Leopard 10.5, Bootcamp and Windows XP SP2

- Results: Installed TimeShift on the iMac no problem. As soon as I started the machine up, I went with generic auto settings. Video played back well, despite some pixelating and choppiness, but I got all the way to the gameplay, and I was actually playing. I am very excited to dive deeper into the game, it LOOKS FREAKIN AWESOME!


MacBook Pro Installation UPDATE:

- Results: Still no go. I went to laptopvideo2go and to Nvidia, but to my suprise, there NO DRIVERS OUT THERE that can assist in my dilemma. When I install the forceware from both websites, it says that the software cannot work with the hardware provided. I have reinstalled Windows XP, Leopard and TimeShift, and still cannot get the game to work...

I think this is pretty pathetic knowing that this game was optimized for Nvidia cards, and the MacBook Pro has a freakin good card in it, while the iMac uses an ATI and still runs the damn game.

Well, I can't really complain because at least I can enjoy it on one of my systems, but I had all my chips on the MacBook Pro to run it the best since I have more video memory, a faster hard drive and a beefier processor.

Opinions would be great.

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong! I did not use the modified INF file from laptopvideo2go, and then.... bam! I am playing the game full on!


Get this... I am running the game at 1920 x 1200 32bpp, medium texture, good material quality.... with no hiccups, and the graphics already look very very smooth! I am very impressed! I will post more results after I tinker with it.

hey could you post info on what exactly to do to get it to work, i'm having some trouble too

and also i notice that laptopvideo2go drivers are significantly behind the nvidia ones

1) Install Timeshift on your Bootcamp partition

2) Go to laptopvideo2go.com

3) Download the latest one for whatever your OS is. Mine is XP SP2, so I saw this little box that said latest drivers on I picked the one for XP.

4) After you download, download the fixed or altered INF file

5) Unzip the driver file

6) Place the modified INF file into the same folder you unzipped the drivers in

7) Install

Then you should be good to go

If I install the drivers from laptopvideo2go it breaks my windows.

I'm having serious issues, the game runs slow like hell and renders totally wrong

Hi villanova329, i'm having the same as you before too. i don't know which one do i need to download. Currently i'm using XP SP2 with 32bit. After that, i dont understand which one do i need to download for the INF? Could you show me some guide? Thanks
