I made an odd observation after firing up Aperture for the first time in Leopard. The application appears to replace the semi-transparent menu bar with its own opaque one when it is in the foreground. See the attached screenshots. I would mind finding a way to apply this menubar look to every application. Does anyone understand if this might be possible?

I also noticed this when I used a demo 20" iMac at the apple store the night of the Leopard launch. I'm curious as to what the cause is.
