Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean has asked retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark to join his campaign, if the former NATO commander does not jump into the race himself next week, and the two men discussed the vice presidency at a weekend meeting in California, sources familiar with the discussions said.

now that might be a ticket.

If Dean gets the nomination he will have to get someone more moderate than him to balance the ticket. Clark would work to do that. And his military record won't hurt either.

It's not bad from a regional perspective either, Dean being from the northeast, and Clark being from the south. I'd still rather see Clark in the top spot though.

Which one is Clark? I'm not sure who he is...

Not sure if that's sarcasm or not since there have been some polls suggesting Clark would enter the race at the back of the pack... but Wesley Clark is not a declared candidate yet, although there is a strong grass-roots effort to draft him to run. He was the NATO commander during the war in Kosovo.

I'd rather Clark in the top spot and Dean as VP. More than ever we need a president with international experience (And I'm not talking about one who sh**s on the world community) who can heal the wounds that hve been deeply cut by the current president. As much as I like Dean, I doubt he could do that. Put Clark in the top spot, and Dean can serve as VP, building support on domestic issues and the like.

Clark/Dean 2004!!

That sounds good. :)

well, if the current administration is any proof...the v.p. seems to be the one really calling the shots.

either way, i'd go with that ticket.
