Surely I can't be the only Mac-using comic fan!

Back when I had a display that only went to 1024 x 768, finding comic art desktops was easy. I used the ones available from dccomic.com mostly. Some are pretty good.

Now I have a lovely lovely 20" iMac which goes 1680 x 1050. The nice big screen (compared to my old one) is wonderful, but now I'm really stuck for desktop pictures that fit.

The dccomics ones go to 1680 x 1200, which is large 4:3 and doesn't fit. Because they often have text on them, if you just resize to fit you cut stuff off and it looks strange.

I've looked at interface lift, but the desktops on there are a bit pedestrian.

So, anyone have any suggestions? I don't have a scanner so I can't make my own, and my photoshop skills are zero.

Anyone have a stash of high res comic art desktops? I have checked various comic forums, but everyone there (comicbookresources, for example), seems content with 1024 x 768 for some reason.
