I'm not too experienced with the internals of OSX, so I'm not sure what the reason is:
I installed MacFuse to get Write access to some NTFS external (USB) drives that I have, only to recently notice a transfer rate of barely 1MByte/sec via USB 2.0 (!!!)
Being quite disappointed i plugged in a FAT32 drive, and uninstalled MacFuse with the uninstall script they added to the release, and after a reboot I got transfer speeds of the usual 10MByte/sec... definately some issues with MacFuse. But this seems to be a well known issue.
Anyway, after uninstalling MacFuse and plugging in the NTFS drives, they don't automount to the desktop anymore. I still can mount them via the command line though.
So what did I miss?
Any suggestions would be helpful :)
Thanks in advance!
