Samsung's new P2. Look familiar, with the one button at the bottom and the big touchscreen? The colour? The whole design? The "tap 'n slide interface" (multitouch with a different name)

Doesn't look anything like an iPod touch to me. Are you saying that if a company makes a device that has a touch screen with just 1 button is copying iPod touch?

You, sir, need to do more research before letting your inner Apple Fanboy loose upon the internets. The P2 was announced way before the Touch. As we all know, the Touch was announced on Sep 5, however, the P2 was officially confirmed on or around August 16th and information about the P2 existed prior to this date. So it is impossible for the P2 to be a rip of the Touch.

Also, you should know that multitouch is not the name of Apple's interface even though they like to parade the word around. Multitouch simply refers to the technology that allows a touch screen to recognize multiple inputs (touches) at the same time.

YP-P2's been around well before the IPT esp if you kept up with sites like engadget & gizmodo...sure it has touchscreen but as said before Apple doesn't have the patent on that (or multitouch) by a longshot (been around since the 80s)...

The success of the iPhone Jan 07 launch no doubt played a role in Samsung releasing this, but it was in the works and more importantly on the rumour scene before the Touch - funnily enough it wasn't released before the Touch, but you can tell based on the coding mess within the Touch on it's release prior to updates - iPhone error messages etc - that Apple rushed it to beat devices like the P2 from riding the iPhone wave and coming out with competitive mp3 devices before theirs)...

So I don't see any copying above & beyond what all companies do..let's not forget the 1st iPod itself was a "copy" of earlier MP3 players by such definitions.
