Is there a way to shut down or temporarily disable a core in the processor of a core duo MacBook without taking the battery out? Don't ask why. :D

Yes. It involves an explosive charge. But if you don't do it quickly enough, the MacBook will figure it out and open the airlock.

Download and install the Developer's Tools, along with the CHUD tool. It allows you to shut off a processor, at least. Probably a core too. IIRC, that is.
