Do you know how long it usually takes to find out if it's a maintenance thing or not? In other words, how long is a usual maintenance? :)
I don't know if I should wait all night long.

Usually about an hour or so.

Well.... they already changed the Desktops to Leopard. So it isn't a simple graphics maintenance? Had they done the new MacBooks?

If they did put up a new product....doing it at 2 am is kind of odd...unless they want people to wake up to something new...but it's not 2 am elsewhere...it's 7-8 am in Europe and it's the late afternoon in Australia...so not exactly being very quiet about it....

My money is on an updated iTunes.
Right now my money is on my pillow....
I give them 5 more minutes and then I'm going to bed.
This is killing me... I want to know what they are doing! How dumb is this, we are all staying up just to see why the :apple: store could be down temporarily?! I find that hilarious. But yes, I'm still staying up... and I have to get up in 6 hours and then drive 4.5hrs... good times.

Usually when the apple store goes down at weird hours, it's just maintenance and nothing new ever shows up when the store goes back up.

My guess is they updated all other stores than the US to the new macbooks and MBP config, seeing as they actually show in the denmarkstore now and didn't yesterday when they were announced...

I notice that now you can select more Apple software titles when ordering (computers), it used to be just iWork didn't it?

isn't it possible that apple took all the stores down worldwide for an hour so they could prep them for a possible release on tuesday the 6th?
i mean wouldn't it be better for apple to take all the stores down during the night like they did, get all the new specs and links all set up and then hide it all so that we don't have to wait an hour after the announcement to buy?
doing it at such an obscure hour worldwide means they did something right? i'v e never heard of worldwide shutdowns for maintenance...but then again we've been calling this mac pro release imminent for about 6 months so nothing would surprise me anymore...
pretty far-fetched but keeps me hopeful and with the mac pro taking so long im running out of hope
