Will this Dell TrueColor E248WFP (http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&sku=128238) work with my MacBook?

Yes, the MacBook supports the 23" Apple display which has the same resolution, and with an adapter the MacBook can output to VGA or DVI-D. The dell monitor supports DVI-D so you'll be fine. You will need an Apple Mini DVI to DVI adapter for it to work though.

Yes it will work, but it is not a quality display in my opinion.
Dells Ultrasharp range is far superior.

It'll work fine. The panel is TN, which the 'graphics pros' with their noses up in the air here will lambast - but as bang for the buck prospect the E248 is in all likelihood a good deal. For example, I don't have any major qualms about spending a good amount of time in front of its (also TN) smaller brother the E228WFP.
The 2407WFP offers better features, better connectivity and a better-quality panel... but if financial considerations override that, the E248 looks like a great choice for a lower-priced display.

Has nothing to do with "Having one's nose up in the air:" has to do with making a living and keeping clients happy, paying and coming back.

I don't really see what "making a living and keeping clients happy, paying and coming back." has to do with a person who wants to save some money and buy a cheaper monitor. That statement is completely irrelevant, and makes no sense in the context of this thread. All you did was proved Sesshis point. Way to go!
