anyone else agree?? when i am holding it browsing the web or something it just doesn't feel right. sometimes it has slipped because of how thin it is and slipped into the gap in the couch. i just feel if it was a bit thicker it would nicely fit in the hand. however, i do love the thiness of it when comparing to other iPod's and when it is in my pocket.

The iPhone is a little thicker and feels nicer IMO.

the touch is a bit thing for me as well.. It has fallen out of my hand and onto the bathroom floor precisely because of this.

I thought that I'd never want to cover up my Touch, but after a few near-misses, I had to go for a leather case. It's just too thin and slick for me to be comfortable hand-holding. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one.

I think it's perfect. I previously owned the world's largest mp3 player (it was like four years old), so I am very grateful to have a thin media player.

After comparing my Touch to an iPhone at the Apple store, nothing can change my mind that the Touch is better. The iPhone feels like a brick compared to the thinness (is that a word?) of the iPod Touch.

...and still suck balls.

You can never be too thin...well, maybe you can, but the touch slips right into my pocket. It is really nice. The iPhone looks like a brick next to it!

Have you ever used one? I don't think people should make judgments unless they have.. anyway staying on topic, I have an iPhone, but I personally like the bigger size.

I think the touch is a more svelte and beautiful device, but for the purposes of usability I think the chunkier iPhone is probably a bit better.

"Eat, eat, you're skin and bones," I tell my iPod touch daily. She doesn't listen, though. She's got a complex for which we're seeking help.

no I actually love the size. It is thin enough to fit it my pocket yet hefty enough to feel good on the hand.

my old roomate owned one i borrowed for a week after breaking my 4th gen iPod. It SUCKED. Mind you and I know this is suicide on this site, but I am a Windows user so don't think I'm just a fanboy.

Can it really be 'too' thin?

Then again, I've never experienced any of the problems you seem to have, perhaps it's cause I've got tiny little girl hands

Just a general advice:

iPods and bathrooms (read: water) don't go well together...

Don't people bring magazines with them to the bathroom anymore?

i always hold it in landscape mode when im browsing the web, it feels right with typing.

ooooh no, i dont think its too thin!

I love its sleekness..... if that's a word!

And now with invisible shield (scratch protection) and a sock while in transit (idiot protection) i dont freak about dropping it at all.

God, its been about 6 weeks now, and i am soooo in love with this thing :D

I think it's perfect. A bit heavy, but I suspect that's due to the glass.

Steve Jobs probably hates the Touch for being too fat though. His obsession is to make it so thin that it's invisible from the side. Perhaps in the form of a plastic film, with a battery that lasts about 8 seconds. Totally useless of course, but who cares -- it would be THIN, right Steve?

I have this Logitech mouse that comes with two lithium batteries. One is being charged in the USB receiver while the other is in use. This would be a perfect solution for iPhone and the iPods. It would however require a battery door, but Johnny Ive is too smug and Steve is too greedy to grace the mobile Apple world with such a godsend...

ok, from an owner of an iPhone and iPt (iPhone came second) I LOVE THE iPhone, so much better in the hand, no sharp edges, very swish. Apple need to remove the sharp edge, make it more round like the iPhone then it will be good. TO ALL iPt owners, u so want an iPhone, i can tell.

Yet it would be very cool to see an iPod with only one side :D

Zunes are iPod comparable...so if you're ripping on Zune, you're in turn ripping on iPod

Yes. Too small in my hands. I loaded it into this:

Love it.

Oh, its the Otterbox Defender, sorry

No, it's not too thin. Especially not if you carry around with you (in a pocket, etc).

In use, it isn't too thin to grip (obviously, imo).

I agree. I did the same exact thing. The iPhone looks HUGE to me... hehe.

nah, I think it's fine, I just wish the text wouldnt default to that huge size whenever you turn it landscape.
nice and robust too!

and, it's a much nicer size than the iPhone, I mean, look at normal phones, only slightly bigger than iPod touch size.

Had a chance to handle one in Best Buy for the first time, and yea, it's quite slim, but it still feels sturdy, unlike other thin devices like the RAZR

Its nice, mine doesn't feel too thin, it feels sleek. I especially love holding it horizontally and placing my two thumbs on either side of the rim (where the home button is and the other side). Thats when it feels thin but I like it!:D

The Nano IMO is WAY too thin and I hate it. The Touch has some real weight and solidity to it which feels nice.

no, not too thin.

i did get a griffin convertible case and it is a little bulkier but perfect for even a pant's pocket.

I have the DLO jam jacket for it so it doesn't feel very thin. But without the jacket it does feel almost too thin. The only reason I want it a bit thicker is to allow a better battery.

I like the thinness, it makes it feel sleek and sexy. However, I also feel that if dropped, it would REALLY hurt it. So, I bought the black Incase protective cover (just a rubber back basically) and it makes it feel very solid.

are you serious? the iphone is probably the slimmest cell phone on the market. as for the ipod touch...... it is nice and thin and dandy and all, but when theres something strange, in your neighborhood, who you gonna call.......??? Ghost... oh wait, you cant!!:D

I love the feel of the touch.
I just feels cool in my hand.
If it were a little bigger it might be better because I have dropped it before.
