got a new macbook (mid end) and want to install parallels and windows vista. so i'm gonna upgrade my RAM. i'm on a budget so i wanted to know if 2GB of RAM is enough or should i just spend the money and go for 4GB.
2GB should be plenty. Unless you seriously want to run lots of software at once. Or big stuff like lots of Photoshop.

Buy the minimum from Apple and get 4GB from OWC or somewhere else for $160-$200. You cna never have enough RAM, especially with Parallels and Vista.
