Spotlight reindexes after every restart

For some reason, every time I restart my iMac Spotlight reindexes the hard drive. Has anyone else seen this? It's quite annoying... FWIW, I'm running Leopard having done an Upgrade Install from Tiger.

I've noticed some unexpected re-indexing, too. Fortunately, it is many times faster than Tiger and gets through it fairly quickly.

Seems to happen on any volume. The last one was only the internal (boot) drive, but I've seen it start over on my external drives.

Yep, I've noticed this happen to on different drives.

This is happening with me on my new Mac Pro. What a pain.

Yes, this happens to me on my PowerBook G4. Anybody know of a fix?
