Well, I have to send in my 17inch powerbook cause the latch is broken so the lid wont close. But, anyways I got some stuff on there that is very personal such as poetry, scripts, and some other stuff. I also have some important buisness work that I don't want anyone to see but my co-workers. Should I back all that stuff up and then erase it of off the computers hard drive....or will they not even look? They asked me to disable the password, so I don't know what they will be doing, obviously they should just be fixing the latch, but who knows...

i don't know what you are worrying about... you have a 200gb hd that you could always just put your stuff on

I backed up and deleted everything I wouldn't on the evening news before I sent mine in, but then again I'm paranoid :) .

I am actually backing it up right now..hehe. But, the thing that I am worring about is weather or not I should erase all the stuff of my the powerbook drive just in case they do check it.

i would leave it. if they do look at it and something bad comes from it you can sue then and take some of that 4 billion. personally they probably have better things to do then read your poetry. but if you can back it up then do it so then you dont have to worry at all.

Nice try, but they can also put child porn in your HD and turn your ass over to the authorities.
If you're that paranoid about people nosing in your personal data, why don't you just fix the latch yourself... oh, wait, I forgot, most Mac users are hardware challenged. j/k
