Leopard Preinstalled - Customize?

Hi guys.

New macbook sometime within next couple of hours :D

Just wandering though, been on youtube and watched lots of vids talking about bringing the "bulk" of Leopard down by not choosing to install ALL printer drivers and different languages when upgrading.

What I want to know is, is that if my macbook comes "pre-installed" with Leopard, will I have any say in whats left out? or would that require me to reinstall it? In which case would I loose the bundled software such as iLife08?

you'll have to reinstall it...and i'm pretty sure that the discs that come with your mac will have iLife on it:)

Ok. Im hoping that it wont take toooo long being a new machine and all :)

would you still recommend erase and install ?

or is that the only way to customize what comes on it?

You might be able to delete the drivers you don't need without uninstalling everything and starting fresh, after all, it's all set up and ready for you, and if you don't need all the space immediately, then why bother with all the hassle immediately.

If you went the erase and install method, and yes that'd be the best way of ensuring that anything you didn't want wasn't installed, just click the more options/customise button halfway through, after you've chosen to erase and install, and it should be fine.

Some printer drivers, for printers you own, are useful. ;)

you could just reinstall the OS (and choosing to not install languages and printer drivers), hoping that iLife will be retained...which i think will work:)
