Just got the updated MacBook with Leopard. Wireless and direct internet connection are quite slow. CNET bandwidth test yields between 300-400 Kbps with the MacBook using wireless N, compared with 1135 Kbps with a VAIO and 1314 Kbps with a 4 year old Toshiba, both with wireless G. My router is an Airport Extreme Base Station, using openDNS servers.

Is there some fundamental networking/internet setting on my MacBook that I need to change?
