I'm running a 2.16 core 2 duo macbook pro with 2 gigs of ram.
Right now with adium, thunderbird, mozilla, and itunes... the computer is showing 82 degrees C and and the fans are spinning at 4000k according to istat.

Its been like this for a week now and i'm scared the baby is going to die.
What should i do?

I do have 2 years of apple care.
I've also noticed that the battery only gets at most 45 min... with the backlight on the lowest setting. (running only mozilla)
Can i get that replaced?

thanks for you help.

if you close thunderbird and mozilla does the temp and fan speed drop?

Now thats not right. How many loadcycles do you have on the battery? How old is the machine?

My MBP generates a heat of around 60C while running similar applications.

How ventilated is your setup? How about ambient temperature?

i would say its a cold room.
when I run serato, it even reaches higher temps.

if i close them the temperature doesn't change much.
maybe 2-3 degrees

right now, after an hour of use it says...
82 degrees at 4100 rpm (right and left fan)

Well the battery is FUBAR. You should just go to the genius bar and show them the temp and fan speed thing. Although I am not sure they will do anything about it.
