use ipod to transfer files

how exactly do i use my ipod to transfer files form my PC to my new mac? do i just format the ipod completely, drag files to it, then drag to the mac? can it be that simple?
 
To share between windows and mac you need to format the ipod on your windows machine. Then just enable disk use and that's all there is to it.
