can I transfer my current o2 contract to iPhone

ok I'm on o2 at the carphone warehouse already and I have a Sony Ericsson s500i, and i want to get an iphone tomo but i dnt want to take out a second contract, is it possible that i can change over my tarriff to the iphone contract?? Anyone in the same boat, what are my options?
