updates question

another newbie question here.

I just got an update notification for itunes and it wanted a password. I never set up a password for my mac. Even if i did i always use on of two passwords so i'm stumped. what do i do?
 
Try just leaving the password blank otherwise get your original disks and reset the password from those.
 
wow you are a genius my man. thanks. i don't know why i didn't think of that.
Maybe someday i can be good enough to help out newbies on these boards.
