iMac without Glossy

i don't think this is possible without damaging it. I wouldn't do that, it's nice this way IMO
 
No it is not. But honestly for all the noise made about it when they came out you don't hear the complaints. I have a new Al iMac and I never notice that it is glossy. Really they got it right and there is no reason to offer both. I don't think it is the same as a notebook. They only sitch where it might be bothersome is in a room with an awful lot of light, esp. from windows, and in that case, I don't think matte would be much better.
