Is it safe to install the new firmware from the link on the front page? [Archive]

I want the 1.1.2 update and see there is a direct download on the front page. Is it safe? 100+MB seems kinda big for an update.

For now, I'd wait if you had a hacked phone. Otherwise, I'd still wait till you can download it via iTunes.
