Moving my iPhoto library pictures to an external drive

How can I move my iPhoto 05 library pictures to an external drive and have them recognized when I open iPhoto 05?

I also want iPhoto 05 to import any future pictures from my digital camera to be stored on my hard drive.

I have no clue about iPhoto 05.

But I recently moved my iPhoto 08 Folder to an external drive.

Opened iPhoto while holding down 'option'

iPhoto then asked me where my library was

pointed to my new location

good to go
