Accounts in top Right Finder Bar

Running OSX 10.5 on a brand spanking new iMac

IS it still possible to have the accounts in the top right hand finder bar like in Panther?

If not is the quickest way to switch account by logging out through the :apple:???

Yes. Just turn on fast user switching in the login options section of the accounts prefpane (same place as it was in Tiger)
