Voicemail not working?

I transferred from an existing O2 contract (activation was smooth and everything was transferred in about half an hour) but if anybody tries to call me they don't get sent to voicemail. I have tried calling my phone from my landline and if I reject the call or let it ring out, it just says "Please wait to be transferred" several times and then says "Please hang up". Shouldn't it be going to voicemail?

Nevermind, got it working; you have to dial 1750 to activate voicemail.

I had exactly the problem.

Think the problem is connected to GPRS/EDGE not working, resetting network settings brings it to life (didn't have to call o2), see the thread here:

no, I've had GPRS and EDGE (in the few places it actually exists).
It even LOOKED like I had my voicemail set up.

However, when someone called me, it just cut them off. Until I did the above.
