How do I get rid of duplicates in iPhoto????

I have thousands of pictures, and a lot are duplicates. Is there a way to create a smart album or delete JUST the duplicates????

Most of the duplicates have the same name, and if I only got rid of the ones with the same name that would be fine.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!

i have the same problem and am trying to find answers. I imported some folders from my PC and now I have a mess...😕
 
There is a program called iPhoto Diet that is designed to do just that. However, it has not been updated for iLife '08 yet. But it does still work for iLife '06.
