Are you able to display a full HD resolution desktop on your LG display from Vista?

Are you able to play back free, unsecured (DRM) content at HD resolutions?

This will help distinguish if you're running into the DRM protections in Vista or just a normal driver/display configuration issue.

What you're experiencing is a common problem with macbook pros and poor Vista graphics drivers. Just download the drivers from this site: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15825
and install them according to the guide and your problem will most likely disappear.
