Well, the U.S. Apple store is down, and who knows why. Could we possibly see those updates we've been waiting for, or is this simply maintenance??

Discuss. Anyone internationally seeing Apple store downtime as well?

This could turn into quite an exciting night.

Maybe that 30" all aluminum, dual drive, quad core, 512mb nvidia 8000 series Imac Pro with video INPUTS I've been dreaming about.

Is there no tradition sacred with Apple anymore 😛

Come on Sunday (Eastern Time Zone) updates, yay!

Maybe they needed the head start, because launching this Imac Pro would cause so much buzz, they anticipated server crashes due to increased traffic. This way, the server could be up in time on Tuesday to make the launch official.

If I was a tech at Apple I'd be having so much fun every weekend while bringing the site down for a small while, just to see what people talk about.

The German and Japanese stores are still up...

Could it be movie rentals in the US market, thus the other stores are still up?

Just speculation...

edit: Can't see what iTnues rentals would have to do with the Apple on-line store though.

I just figured out why the Apple Store is down.

They installed Leopard on Saturday, and are now busy patching up their new kernel panic and system freezing issues. 🙂

They finally have refurb aluminum imacs

well, a section for them anyway. Though not sure if that is why they took the store down....
