At least my iTunes still says my 1.1.1 is up-to-date.

I read that it's available as a stand-alone download, but not yet on itunes. Do a search, it should be brought up.

OK, so, Apple still have not released 1.1.2 via Itunes..Also the links posted in various forums for 1.1.2 when downloaded don't expand to a firmware file??
3 seperate dmg files and various other data, none of which can be read by itunes when shift clicking on restore..
So, err, what am I doing wrong?

Open iTunes, plug in the iPhone, go to where you can see the restore button, option + click on the button, find the .zip file and you're done. Have fun for the next 30+ minutes of restoring all the other files on your iPhone.

Downloaded it from a macrumors post, opening the zip worked a treat. I had to drag it out of the bin after safari auto unstuffed it, leaving the folder on the desktop...

Nice update. Asks if you want to restore from a previous ipod and adds a battery indicator.. I'm a happy camper.

I may as well just wait for apple to release it through itunes..
True ... or you could just download the *actual* iPod 1.1.2 firmware instead :p :

If you're using Safari, make sure it doesn't unzip the .ipsw file, as iTunes will only recognize that. Googling this would have saved you a heck of a lot of time.
