After reading many of the issues with the AL iMacs, I punted and bought a 17" with 2.0 ghz intel Core 2 Duo on the refurb site (with leopard) for $849.
What are the issues I should be looking out for on this puppy.
It is replacing a 12" G4 PowerBook and 10.3.9.
I also bought the new apple extreme unit although I will be using .11g level for awhile while things get upgraded around here (bought the family pack to upgrade 2 emacs and the 12" powerbook). I want to use the shared external wireless network hard drive feature.
I am not aware of the typical issues associated with this iMac.
edit: also is there an advantage with matching ram on this unit? Say 1gb per slot to allow for more efficient processing?
