No, it does not work for the UK iPhone come with firmware 1.1.2.
We need to wait a little longer.

Basically, the jailbreak method currently gets you to downgrade to version 1.1.1 or below, then jailbreak from there.
Jailbreaking allows you to install 3rd part apps, but not unlock for any sim/network.

Anyone confirm that the concieted jailbreak works ok on a uk o2 iphone running 1.1.2? Will the different bootloader/baseband cause any problems?

Just looking to try out 3rd party apps..

Hi,

Apparently the unlock will only work after o2 contract activation within iTunes.

Can anyone confirm this ? Am hoping to purchase a UK Iphone without the o2 contract.

Alternatively, is it possible to use an O2 Pre-pay SIM ?
