when connecting shuffle to new imac, apostrophe shows up as "_" on desktop

when i connect my shuffle to new imac, on the desktop screen , the icon shows up as "matthew_s ipod" when it should be "matthew's ipod", i have no idea why the apostrophe shows up as a "_" symbol on the desktop, why does this happen, thanks
 
no i have only used it on the new imac, does the _ symbol just show up for ipod shuffle or flash memory devices or any ipod?
