Hi, I am trying to delete some files out of a mounted image (.dmg) but it seems like I don't have the right permissions to do it. I have tried "chmod 777 xyz.dmg" with no luck. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Are you sure the .dmg is not mounted?
Also, click on the icon, press apple-i and at the bottom of the window there should be some permissions that you can change. I'm not sure if that helps.

The image is mounted and my permissions are "Read & Write". Just to clarify, I just need to delete a few files inside the image not the image itself.

Thanks.

Did you make this disk image as read only? This is a separate requirement than the unix permissions.
