There has been confusion about this, I have seen conflicting things. On Apple's website it says the Mini "ships with leopard" - but does that mean they are being cheap and selling their new-old-stock minis with a crummy leopard upgrade disc in the box? When I navigate to the Mini section on Apple's website, I see 10.4 listed as the OS and "ships with leopard". Then when I click the "buy" button, i am taken to another page where it says 10.5 is the OS. Is there any way to find out? I won't be buying one if it is the upgrade disc... I will just wait until the Mini replacement comes out.

I would imagine by now they are shipping with Leopard installed, but you never know..
why does it really matter? it's the same hardware regardless of if Leopard is installed or not....

I ask because my observation with the Tiger--> leopard upgrade disc is that it does not give you as "stable" an install as a fresh leopard-only install. There's also that rule about having to reinstall tiger first when reinstalling leopard, a pain. I know it's not windows, but the same thing occurs with upgrade discs on that platform... Anyway, if everyone else is getting the full version, I want it too... maybe it's more about principle than anything else, to me

I'm pretty sure the disk they give you contains the full version of leopard, not just an upgrade...

I received my new Mini this week with a Leopard drop in DVD (10.4.10 pre-installed).
I don't mind necessarily as the upgrade went smoothly.
Currently running 10.5.1.
This is my first Mac and quite frankly I'm utterly blown away how good these things are :)

interesting - anyone in the US get their mini with pre-installation of leopard? I read the UK was a bit behind the US for that...
