Personally, I've always been a Nintendo person... but recently, I started looking at a PS3, as I'm an A/V Geek and it seems that the PS3 is a better deal than a Blu-Ray player. So, the main reason I'm buying is Blu-Ray, and the games are a nice plus.
From what I've read, though, it looks like the 60GB is the only model that offers "true" PS2/PS1 compatibility -- another must for me, since I've missed out on a ton of the great older games. Unfortunately, it's been discontinued and it looks like I missed the boat on getting my hands on one.
Now, my options are either a 40GB with ZERO backward compatibility, or an 80GB with software compatibility (which, I've heard, is glitchy).
So, I started thinking... I can get a 40GB PS3 as well as a PS2 for about $30 more than the 80GB. That would give me my Blu Ray, PS3 games, and full PS2/1 compatilbility. I'm thinking I'll go this route... the big question I have is, is there any glaring problem with this concept I'm missing? (Most importantly, am I missing any "crucial" features from the 80GB, other than the loss of disk space?)
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this concept. Thanks in advance!
