Mac Firewire Help!!

hey i was wondering how Windows would run on a firewire connected harddrive. Not by partitioning the harddrive IN the mac. would it still run at a native speed?


oh and do you guys have links to any harddrives (firewire) you guys would reccomend?
 
I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain Windows can't boot off a firewire drive.
