I'm actually really disappointed in how ugly it is.... I'm not an apple fan boy screaming "boo-dell"... it really is ugly.. those speakers are ridiculous. (and the way the site is designed and portrays it... it seems like Dell agrees.)

Eh, it's not that bad. I actually kind of like the stand - I like the cable management arch.
Wouldn't buy one either though.

It seems alright to me. It has all the stuff we wish the iMac had. Integrated TV tuner, Blu-Ray, etc. If I was a steadfast pc guy looking for an iMac-like computer, that would be it. The apparent downfall of the machine is the included software; dell support, dell media player or whatever, vista, etc. As far as looks go, it doesn't seem all that different from a regular dell monitor with speakers on the side, which is what the iMac is and what dell was trying to go for. So I say, good job Dell... for once...

There's no style. At all.
They just don't get what it's all about. This segment of the market is not about listing features. For that money you want something more than a vanilla computer. It should be a product that makes you want to buy it, not because it's the best on paper (although that helps), but because it oozes style and charisma.
It's illustrated by just looking at the webpages. One's a nice product (forget that it's a computer - it's just a nice object) and the other is a computer like any other. You don't 'want' the Dell and the webpage doesn't make you want it in the first place.

I hear a lot of techies say that Windows and PCs are just as good if not better than Apples. Apple is for dumb people, etc.
They are trying to be like Apple, without actually getting one...

$2,399 and you only get Vista Home Premium??! It's because you're getting that fabulous  Blu-ray drive, which IMO seems rather pointless on a 20" display.
Not only did Michael Dell have to eat his words about "shutting Apple down" but now he's attempting to copy Apple's design :D
