I also admire you for posting a picture! It is nice to have another female on the forum. If I may say so I think that you are a nice looking young lady. Your "pajamas" actually look like they are hospital scrubs. You would be a favorite nurse in the pediatrics ward. I happen to be a nurse. Happen to enjoy wearign scrubs, mine are just the plain one color type!

Since MacRumors' shyest couple have all of a sudden posted nearly a dozen pictures of themselves, I thought that i would add a recent one taken from my 20th high school reunion this past July. I cropped out about 5 other people to fit the size limit.

Of course, if pajamas are good for public use, why not nursing uniforms for casualwear?

At work, I see a lot of people walking around in nursing scrubs. The mall is across the street from the hospital, so I guess it's a frequent favorite of those on lunch break or coming out to unwind after work. But yes, I've noticed they are always cheerful designs that make me feel uneasy more than anything else.

I just hope that MacFan26 won't be embarrased by my comments. Hope that we could be friends though.

Doctor Q you talk about public use of scrubs. They are also worn by doctors, I'm sure that arn has worn his share of them. Thye are the height of fashion in the OR ar critical care.

I just wore my scrub pants today out in public. Voted a my local polling place today. It was a primary election for our City Council in Boston!

Maybe I did exaggerate a little, but you have to admit that you've posted yours and Josh's picture more often than you probably thought you ever would.

I'm not complaining though. You two look good together. Hang in there with your parents. The teenage years suck for everyone, including parents.

That one at that time was not either. As you know you need oxygen and also don't have all the gear on for the HALO or HAHO jumps. Also with that gear on I would freeze my nuts off! LOL

As far as I can tell that is me 12 of us went out that day but everyones ass looks the same.

As far the group yes I am in that group. I am trying to dig up one with the HA gear that we had to wear. i know I have some with me some where it is just the fact that there are thousands of pictures taken the 6+ years I was a PJ.

Here you go man this isn't me but this was taken of a PJ that was Kuwait. That is everything we usually had to cary.

If you look in that back ground you can see the Hardened shelter that was hit durning that the Gulf War!

Sorry I took that fae off and rank because this solider is still at it.

And damn man I was a PJ I was in great shape so 13500 usually was the limit. I heared you can almost go all the way to 18000.

Also we usually used AC-130's nice to have a little firepower to back you up just incase.

That is a negative. There are no galvanized steel foliage here in Hawaii. That's the bottom of what is known as the "Stairway to Heaven" or "Haiku Stairs" on the Windward side of the island of O'ahu. A little over 3000 steps afford the viewer an awesome 360 view of the isle atop the side of towering clifs.

OK Rower...you used to live in Hilo and now you live in San Diego....any chance you moved from SD to SF to Hilo and back to SD? If so, skip the move to Visalia after moving back to Hilo shortly and just get to the good part (WA), it's much nicer here than Visalia.

Actually, my route is more like:
NorCal (Humboldt Co.), HI, NorCal (Humboldt Co.), HI, NorCal (Siskiyou Co.), SD

you know, it might be cool to have like a directory of photos of users in the form of a thread. kind of like this, but in a much more succinct manner--i.e., with no commentary, just a name with a picture.

it'd be nice to have a mod (or i could do it, if no one else wants to) make a sticky thread and make individual posts of each user in succession... we could call it the macrumors image directory or something

i mean, it is great to have this thread, but it's somewhat clumsy to go through 16 pages when if could be cut down to 3-4 in terms of the actual number of people who have shared their pictures.

a practical idea, or just bad?

I agree with you shadowfax. It would be nice to have a directory of names and pictures. Trying to use this thread would be cumbersome, no way to find an individual person. Hope that some form of manageable listing can be setup!

Well, this lasted for a while, and I guess I'll put in a picture. I thought I didn't have one, but realized that the campus newspaper here at Northwestern has a picture of me in their online archives.

This is from the paper's pic after my successful bid for Academic Vice President of the student government.

I know what you mean about your daughter, my toddler son Kai is also the love of my life, despite the fact that he doesn't make things easy for me - he has serious epilepsy and a multitude of other neurological problems - but I love him more than anything.

yeah. my sister has hazel eyes, too. which is kinda funny, as we are a year apart, and my mom and dad have brown and blue eyes, respectively. my little brothers are 10 and 11 years younger than me, and they have blue eyes and brown eyes, respectively.

here's some photos from around 6 months ago as well. this was around the Sunshine Coast hinterland (for all you Queensland people :p). it's an awesome rock pool with a cliff right beside it, so you can jump anywhere from 10-30 feet above the water. :D

these pics make me look really skinny... but i guess that i just am. :p

Yeah, children... we probably shouldn't bore our younger friends here with our outpourings, but I know what you mean. There's just no greater love than the one we have for our little ones, despite all those times we'd like to shoot them to the moon on a one-way trip. The kind of love you long for in a relationship, but rarely find - simple, pure, uncomplicated.

It's good to know that there's quite a few of us here in these forums who're at this point in our lives - I sometimes felt like the only one here who's not doing the dorm thing and doesn't start sentences with "dude" (not that the latter is not a perfectly proper thing to do for folks with kids - we're just too old and lame to do it :) ).

Nice work, LimeiBook86! LimeiBook86's photoshop of mrjamin looks like the paintings by Picasso entering his cubism period. Well, maybe not exactly the same, but last night I got to see the French Masterworks (http://www.lacma.org/info/press/frmastersPR.htm) collection of paintings from the State Pushkin Museum in Moscow, which is touring, and seeing paintings by Picasso, van Gogh, Monet, Cezanne, Matisse, and others that have rarely if ever been seen in the U.S. before was just amazing. I think that Picasso and Salvador Dali would both have liked Kai's Photo Goo, from which Photoshop has taken some inspiration. :D

okay, i just whipped these pics up.

i once heard on the radio or somewhere that the right side of your face is evil, and the left side is good. (or it might be the other way around?)

anyway, i mirrored the left and right sides. i've also done this to photo's of myself, my Dad and my bro.

unfortuantely mrjamin, i have to say that you have a very symmetrical face. some say that if you have a equally proportioned face, you're good looking. but that means your no fun to Photoshop. :D

anyway, here they are. this is just kinda interesting.... the more bizzare edit is still in the works... :D

wow, thats weird! i've seen pictures of various people and they do look really odd when their faces are mirrored, but it took me a few seconds to figure out what was unusual about the first one!

Another interesting thing; apparently you recognise people by one side of their face, for me i must remember the left side of myself as i couldn't see anything wrong with it until i saw the background! (i know that the right side was mirrored, but if you think about it, i only ever see myself in the mirror :p)

cb911
Oct 12, 2003, 06:52 AM

that is fascinating that there is the mirror imaging feature in photoshop...i can see the subtle difference in the two pictures

Doctor Q
Oct 12, 2003, 02:21 PM
Tip: Once you have a mirrored-left-side image and a mirrored-right-side image of a face you know, use a morphing tool to make a movie, animated image, or series of images that let one version change back and forth to the other. This will let you see exactly what differs between the two.

wow, those are some pretty stately looking schools!!

being from the west coast in the usa and having had my entire culture get it's real serious momentum mostly after the gold rush of the mid 1800s, there is not much out there as far as grand old buildings of grandeur...most of my area in northern california looks like it was mostly built in the generation after world war II and later so there is a real homgenous look to everything

so i showed my wife stanford, which is the grandest oldest college campus still standing and one of the few remaining educational institutions with stuff that's pre 1900...we lost a lot of stuff in the 1906 sf quake...and she thought, compared to the grand old buildings of east coast colleges built in the 1700s, and some before, that this west coast stuff looked new and unremarkable

so i told her i am not completely devoid of culture when it comes to have seen good old buildings made for school...i did see oxford and cambridge and they have some pretty gothic buildings:p

I have created a thread named MacRumors Members Photo Directory (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41568) with an alphabetical directory of all the (real) photos in this thread, by member name. I am going to try to keep it up to date as this thread grows. Since it was too big for a single post (and it will grow over time), I split it into sections (A-F, G-O, P-Z). I posted an explanation of the directory too. I put the explanation last so it will be more convenient to go to the top of that thread to use the directory.

I request that comments about the directory itself be posted to the new thread, rather than here, so that this thread can stay focused on photo posting.
