German Shepherd, Chow mix. He is very smart and curious, but likes to use his paws to get you to do something. I have some scratches to prove it. He likes the Macintosh startup noise better than the Windows login noise. :) Jack... the mutt. Which is a good thing, because that way we know he is less likely to have genetic defects and such. Kewl, ain't it?

I'm happy that you guys are engaging in small-talk here in this discussion thread, but perhaps taking this discussion off-site to some sort of online dating service would be more appropriate? I'm happy for ya if you like her, but posting little one-liners like that? Come on, at least write her a sonnet or something if you like her! :p ;)

Ashes of Life (complete)
-Edna St. Vincent Millay
Love has gone and left me and the days are all alike;
Eat I must, and sleep I will,—and would that night were here!
But ah!—to lie awake and hear the slow hours strike!
Would that it were day again!—with twilight near!
Love has gone and left me and I don't know what to do;
This or that or what you will is all the same to me;
But all the things that I begin I leave before I'm through,—
There's little use in anything as far as I can see.
Love has gone and left me,—and the neighbors knock and borrow,
And life goes on forever like the gnawing of a mouse,—
And to-morrow and to-morrow and to-morrow and to-morrow
There's this little street and this little house.

And anyway, judging from some polls I've seen in which somewhere around 60% of ppl have smoked the other thing you can put in a bong, I'd say if I was open about it, it'd be little problem. Of course, it'd also be 20 years from now, and theres a slim chance it'd be legal then anyway...

Hey, completely off topic, but whats Organech Collective all about? Im curious about the rather nondescript website. (I am a sound design student)
the Organech Collective is what started as a group of friends who were in a band called Organech (which was spawned from other bands/friends of course :)). It has developed into a local community of artists involved in many things. it has grown much bigger than expected (content wise) and updates to any web-sites have been slow. im now attempting to merge all involoved into the umbrella which is the Organech Collective: a starting point for all artists Organech, thier friends, and interests. multiple sites are being co-developed and will also be accesible from organech.com
but for now it's just a vague webpage...
PM if you want to know more. im a full time digital artist/designer (a/v). live DJing Vjing Recording Creating and Painting ... and a geek too. :D
i hope to add content for those interested soon (animation, paintings, albums, remixes, desktops, events, prints, CDs, AACs, etc). I can email examples upon request of past work. all my photo work on MacRumors has died since i changed servers. :( but i needed to clean house anyway. thanks for the interest.
peace.
*sorry, no new pics of me yet ... i'll try to get all my old ones up again. ;) like anyone cares; im such a narcissist

sorry to hear about your daughter. seizures seem complex ... do you know any good links on research?
from his tone i could tell he was joking, but if he really looks like that you just hurt his feelings ... i know people that look like that.

I hope your daughter is only suffering from "febrile convulsions", which are quite common in children under six, and usually fade away fairly quickly. If it's true epilepsy, many cases can be controlled with Tegretol, Carbomazepine or just plain Valium. It must be very scary for you - and for her.

I can certainly understand your feeling that way, perspective makes all the difference. Was your daughter febrile at the time of her seizure. It is not an uncommon occurrence. She will grow out of this, if that is the case. The main thing is to control her fevers aggressively.
If she does have epilepsy, at her young age it is also possible that she may grow out of these episodes. Today physicians have many medications to use. With many it's a matter of getting the proper level. The majority can be seizure free. Please let us know what the diagnosis ends up being.

Yeah, I was talking about the grren shirt guy...no prosthetics, just some kind of sock arrangement.

I've only ran one complete one myself, and did a leg in a relay one - quite enough for me! I still do a lot of cardio as part of my overall training regimen, but nothing that would be considered marathon running anymore.

Why have a 6-pack when you can have a keg? ;) I wouldn't worry about it - each person has their own way of keeping fit and healthy. Plus, I would argue that bodybuilders are some of the least healthiest people around - the human body just wasn't made to absorb some of the things those guys put it through!

Mar 13, 2005, 01:48 PM
I tried it, but for some reason it looks weird flipped over...weirder than normal evenThere's a likely reason for that. All your life, you've seen yourself in the mirror or in photos (or videos), but never really "in person". If the version you're most used to is the one in the mirror, then you think of your mirror image as how you look and the rest of us see the reverse. So you look "weird" to yourself in photos and "correct" in the mirror.
People who part their hair on one side are most likely to notice this effect. Ask them to draw a cartoon of themselves and notice which side they put the hair part on.

So true. I hate the sound of my own voice. I sound like a school girl in taped recordings, although in my head, I sound like a stud-muffin. And I can't quite get myself to look at me in pictures, it's just too traumatic. I believe each picture taken steals a little of your soul, until you become like those soul-less cover models who are vapid and ice cold.

I wanted a 20d, but could not justify the price. But, I loooove the new XT. (despite the smaller size). I use it with a Tamron 28-75mm, and it produces very sharp images. I could not be any happier. (except if i had the 20D) :D

yeah, that price difference sucks.
i use a 10D with a Tamron here at work. Decent lens. A Sony 828 would be better suited for what we do here though (that rotating lens can come in handy for awkward shooting). ;)

Here we go....
Me signing the wedding papers:

And me (in the middle) having some fun with my wife and my brother-in-law this January:

My wife found out today (after such a long time) that I put a picture of her online and what not impressed about which one I picked... ;)
She insisted to put a better one...
Her at an easter fire in Bremen this year:

And since we are at it. My second daughter was born last October... here is a picture of my two little girls together:

Hey everyone,
I'm new in this forum so I'll shortly introduce myself...
I'm Angie, Groovebuster's wife (yes the one in front of the "burning house"!)!
I just find it really interesting to see which pictures Groovebuster chooses to post on the forum! Me with a beer bottle! I only drank like two sips from it, I'm not a drinker at all.
Anyway, I'll post a picture which I think represents be better! (I prefer candy-canes, we don't get them in Germany...) ;)
This was taken this Christmas
http://www.kleberg.net/download/pictures/tehya_angie.jpg
and a good one from the rest of my little family:
This was also taken some time in December

Yeah, we burn down houses on Easter in Germany!!! :D ;)
Actually, it's a German/European tradition and don't worry, it's only old trees and other burnable garbage the people bring for the fire! It has something to do with representing the sun, but you should ask Groovebuster about it. He's the German!! ;) I'm just Canadian!

As for that tendonitis (see her sig.) ... if it's computer related, these (http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/index.cfm) really help. :) ... though if it's from the viola/violin then, can't help you there. :p

Blah, I know. I got it when it was more expensive everywhere else. On the interweb, I saw it for $200 all these places. When I found it for $170, $30 was an "awww yeaaa" saving. Must update that for current economic conditions, :p .

Sorry, I couldn't resist....not all that often you can say that line and actually be relating to something non-fiction.
That is an interesting name, and as neut pointed, but better than green, I have known two 'red's though, not all that bad after you know the person.

:D re: my name
Well it was a perfectly nice name to have until the cartoon Blue's Clues came to be. Hey, at least it's a girl dog... my name is pretty androgynous. I get calls asking for Mr. Blue ___ and I know they probably have no business calling me, as I am, in fact, female.
No real story to the name, just hippie parents who liked the color. The real kicker is that my two much youngers sisters are named Rachel and Rebecca. how's that for being born under a bad sign? :p
ok, in all seriousness I do love my name... it suits me and I can't picture anything else. I mean hey, if they liked shades of brown, imagine the frightening possibilities. :D
