View Full Version : Question about MBP airport (is this Leopard or the MBP's thing)

So on my old PowerBook G4, when I clicked the airport in the menu bar, it would bring up a list of everything available

Now with my MBP it goes through this whole "Airport: Scanning" thing before I can choose a network, and while scanning my mouse jumps around a lot, even if I am not moving it.

Why is this, and is this a Leopard problem (meaning I can hope for it to be fixed) or a MBP problem (meaning I just have to live with it)

I only ask because I have never had anything but Leopard on my MBP

I've got a MBP, running Leopard, and I've never seen this problem you speak of. When I click on the wireless in the menubar, the first item in the list is always "Airport Scanning...", but below that is a listing of all the networks nearby (including some weak ones that jump in and out of the list).

Mouse never jumps around either. Does this happen everytime you open that menu, or just after restart/wake from sleep? Are you in a location that has a preferred network, or are you jumping from free wi-fi zone to free wifi?
