Time Machine laggy?

Hello!

I need your help guys. Time Machine when scrolling through the side where they tell the dates, is laggy. Also, when going back and forth, it lags. I have 3 gb ram, so that should not be a problem. Mines a ALU iMac 2.4ghz.

Help me please!
 
time machine is laggy on my macbook pro the first time i use it. its seems to be alright after that. your imac has a lot better specs than my MBP. if you open it again is the side timeline laggy?
