USB port deactivated?

So, I've found all sorts of cell phones around our house that have been deactivated, and I came across my brother's old KRZR. I couldn't find the charger for it, so I connected it to my Mac using a miniUSB cable. The keypad started to light on and off, and then my Mac gave me a message saying "USB port is taking up too much power. It is now deactivated." So, I plugged my mouse into it, and sure enough, it's deactivated! What can I do to reactivate it?
