Hi, folks!

A friend of mine has just had to replace the dead battery in his Powerbook G4 ... in the interests of not having to sell a kidney, he opted for a generic replacement, which seems to be fine but with one slight niggle:

The old battery was rated at 10.8V and the new one is rated at 11.1V ... is there any implication in the 0.3V difference, or is this within acceptable variation for a laptop battery?

Any advice very much appreciated ...

Thanks!

Jim

I don't have any technical data, but I'd be very surprised if 0.3V makes any difference, especially with a battery, which can be a bit variable anyway, I'd expect a regulator circuit.

I'd say give it a try, and if it becomes unstable or goes bang then I was wrong :p

I would guess that any company that has gone to the trouble of making a battery that physically fits the G4 would also be correct as far as voltage.

You know, that was my advice, too ...!
