I have two icons on my desktop which I cannot remove. They are a photograph and a movie from my digital camera, which were locked on the camera at some point. I have managed to unlock them on the camera but somehow they stay on my desktop, what do I do? I am fairly new to mac. Help!🙁

Is there a little "lock" at the lower left corner of the icon?

Right click on the file and choose "Get Info" from the contextual menu. In the "General" section of the window that pops up, there should be a checkbox with "Locked" next to it. Is the box checked? If so, uncheck it and you should be free to do whatever you want with the file.

Thanks so much, it worked with the movie but not the photograph, the photo does not have the little locked icon on the left, and when i try to get info it is gray..
